City Camp BirminghamBirmingham is an archetype of the future that UK cities are facing. Its levels of economic disadvantage, material deprivation and health inequality are clear indicators of this impending reality. These challenges provide the opportunity and necessity for disruptive innovation, and with one of the youngest and most diverse populations in Europe, Birmingham is well placed to completely reimagine itself and forge revolutionary new solutions.
City Camp is an open festival, bringing together pioneering ideas from across the world. Exploring the theme of city futures and ultimately the future of Birmingham in its first year, the open programme recognises that we all have a role to play in feeding into the city's dialogue and unleashing positive solutions.
2016's event was a prototype for an annual festival of ideas.
