On his 18th birthday, in the midst of all the celebrations, he discovers that his leave to remain in the country has been declined. He’s being deported. Devastated and terrified, he lies to Rosie that he can stay. The next day Mati leaves for work as normal but doesn’t return. Desperate to stay in the UK, he goes on the run. When Rosie and George discover the letter, they begin to panic, leading George to run away from home in search of his brother. With two boys missing, how will Rosie find them and solve this seemingly impossible situation?’

Hub Iftar

This Yellow Wednesday will also coincide with this year’s Hub Iftar. Anyone attending Yellow Wednesday is more than welcome to stay on for Hub Iftar (but please do book via the link below, just so we know how many will be attending!)

Muslims across the country and around the world are observing ramadan. Ramadan is a 30 day period of fasting, prayer and giving to charity amongst other things. Iftar quite simply means the opening of the fast.

Muslim members of the Hub invite you to come along and share a sunset meal to open their fast. To attend all you need to do is book your free ticket via Eventbrite and bring a dish to share. Bring family and friends, hear the call the prayer and a bit about Ramadan, and help open a fast with us as the sun goes down. (We’re not asking you to fast, just to join us for a meal!).

Book your Yellow Wednesday tickets now via eventbrite.

Yellow Wednesdays
As the golden sunlight from a warm Brummie sunset glistens through the windows of Impact Hub Birmingham, members and guests alike close the lids of laptops and breathe a sigh of relief as another day of world changing activities comes to a close. Meanwhile, a laptop lid is opened, coffee is poured and seats are dragged into a seating arrangement fit for the kings, queens and all those in between, ready to consume another evening of spectacular film programming.

Yellow Wednesdays brings a mix of cinema, from the submissions of local Brummie individuals and companies, through to the more Cannes film festival less Odeon multiplex, captivating stories from all other the world. We aim to bring a rich and diverse programme of films to fill your year, and you can catch it all at Impact Hub Birmingham, every 3rd Wednesday of the month.
