As more and more gets connected to the internet, our digital lives have more possibilities, wider implications and greater risks than ever before. Explore them together.
ThingsCamp is an inclusive, open space event for people who want to explore the present and future of connected devices; it’s a place for collaborative learning, discussion and making.
This fifth event brings us to Birmingham and this time we’re running two different events over two days.
Saturday’s ThingsCamp will follow the open space format and is welcome to everyone (just like the previous events). If you’re new to ThingsCamp then this post will give you a good idea of what to expect.
Whether you come to one event or both it’s important to know that we work hard to make sure ThingsCamp is welcoming to everyone whatever experience, ability or background. If you have any questions at all please send us a message through this page, visit the ThingsCamp website or talk to the team on Twitter.
Tickets for Day 1 of ThingsCamp at Impact Hub Birmingham can be booked here via Eventbrite
ThingsCamp is a series of events, a community and a set of resources designed to promote more inclusive activity around internet-connected devices, or the “Internet of Things”. Behind it is a commitment to growing a diverse audience and encouraging creative, varied discussion.
The ThingsCamp team work hard to bring together anyone with an interest in what this technology means for them and events typically cover everything from introductory talks to in-depth, hands-on workshops. But whatever your level of experience and understanding you’ll be able to come along, meet new people, engage in interesting discussions and play with technology.
