This recently made documentary film, VISIBLE, challenges common misconceptions that LGBTQ+ People of Colour have no history and no story to tell. In conversation will be Director Campbell X, Producer and Arts Council England Change Maker Kayza Rose.
Kayza Rose is the Executive Director of BlackOutLDN which she co-founded to support victims of racism and to combat oppressions suffered by people of colour. Kayza uses creative practices to give marginalised groups a voice. Kayza is a Filmmaker and creative producer in the arts who joined Duckie on the Arts Council England Change Maker programme in October 2016. As well as developing a distinctive voice in Black activism , Kayza has produced a season of innovative black queer events including the film, performance and clubbing triptych Family, the nourishing mental health format Family Dinner and a new QTIPOC London youth theatre that opened in March 2018. Campbell X is an award-winning filmmaker who directed the queer urban romcom feature film Stud Life (2012) which was awarded the Screen Nations Independent Spirit Award (2013) and the Best Black LGBT film in the Hotter Than July Film Festival (2013) Campbell’s recent film DES!RE (2017) is a meditation on desire for queer masculinity including transgender masculinity and female masculinity.
