Girls Night In 7.0 – Self Defence Special

Join mOmhead for their seventh Girls Night In at Impact Hub Birmingham and learn how to keep yourself safe with the badass herself, Alison Baskerville, leading an evening on self defence. With her ex-military background, self-defence training and current pursuit of boxing, you’ll be in great hands!

Being a female empowerment organisation, they always want to create an environment that looks at different ways to do this. The stats are telling us that street harassment is on the rise, young women don’t feel safe when venturing out in the world alone and or/whilst travelling, women would like to know the basics of self defence without committing to clubs/courses and of course, women want a safe space to do this in. Enter Girls Night In.

It’ll be a night of strength, community, power and of course fun, laughter and sisterhood. Team this up with mOmhead’s infamous fresh home-made food and drink and we’ve got ourselves a badass night! Remember to come comfy, joggers and t-shirts and whatever else you can kick, block, punch and move around in!

‘Girls Night In’ is an open night for girls/women of any age (over 16) and background. Each one is run under a theme for the night and always involves non-alcoholic drinks, music, activities, discussion, food and a space to chill out for the evening. If this sounds like it’s up your street then come along and enjoy a safe space with like minded people and unwind from a busy day at college, uni and/or work.

mOmhead are holding these nights for girls/young women as a way to simply relax and kick it with other women. They feel the social aspect is just as important as the professional, as well-being is something all women and girls could practice more of. You don’t always want to go to the cinema or to a restaurant so why not keep it simple and just have a chilled out evening that’s safe, empowering and tailored just for you.

There is a small fee of £4 (including booking fee) to attend Girls Night In, this is to cover food and drink costs and all/any activities involved, but if for any reason this is unaffordable, please drop mOmhead an email at and they’ll see what they can do.

You can book your tickets here via Eventbrite.
