“I have some food in my bag for you
Not that edible food, the food you eat
No, I have some food for thought.”
– Erykah Badu
Food For Thought is our take on afternoon tea, an opportunity to feed our bellies and minds every Thursday here at Impact Hub Birmingham.
Join us as we gather around the workbench and discuss key themes and ideas each week, hosted by the community over tea and cake!
This week, Impact Hub Birmingham Parent Member Andre Reid will be talking people, products and place.
Andre is a designer who has been experimenting with different ways in which citizens can make things within cities in order to build closer relationships between ourselves and the products we surround ourselves with. As such Andre has found himself resident at a multitude of spaces in and around Birmingham and would like to share with you all a little bit about one round the corner from Impact Hub.
This space ‘Melting Pot’ is situated in the old Smithfield Garage on Meriden Street, the next street down from Impact Hub Birmingham. Melting Pot is a multimedia co-working space, in many ways ideal for creative practitioners seeking a flexible and dynamic workspace where they can look and feel professional whilst they get messy making stuff. Join us to find out more about how you can build closer relationships with your space and communities.
Food for Thought is free for Impact Hub Birmingham members to attend and £5 for non members. If you’re not a member, you can book your ticket via Eventbrite here.
If you are interested in hosting a conversation or activity of your own at a future Food For Thought, please do get in touch.
