“I have some food in my bag for you
Not that edible food, the food you eat
No, I have some food for thought.”
– Erykah Badu
Food For Thought is our take on afternoon tea, an opportunity to feed our bellies and minds every Thursday here at Impact Hub Birmingham.
Let’s gather around the workbench together as we discuss key themes and ideas each week, hosted by the community over tea and cake!
Calls for equality, diversity, representation and inclusion have never been enough.
In the fight for equity and justice, how do people come together strategically to build effective movements for change.
How useful is challenging institutions from within?
This week’s session is hosted by Impact Hub Birmingham parent member Amahra Spence. Amahra will be talking about ‘Building Moments’. Amahra is the founder of MAIA, an artist-led production and development company. Current projects include Alternative Civics, Art Hotel and P.O.C.
You can listen to Amahra’s TEDxBrum talk on ‘Why Cities Need Artists’ here.
Food for Thought is free for Impact Hub Birmingham members to attend and £5 for non members.
If you’re not a member, you can book your ticket via Eventbrite here.
