It’s Impact Hub Birmingham’s 1st birthday!

Looking back over our first year, it’s incredible how far we have come together. None of this adventure would have been possible without your incredible support, generosity, investment and hard work. It’s nearly 18 months since the #EpicBrum Kickstarter campaign raised £65,095 raised from 568 people in 36 days and, whilst extending a huge thank you for what you have helped us achieve so far, we also want to look forward to what’s next for a community that is ever-growing.

To celebrate, we are launching City Camp Birmingham. City Camp is open festival, bringing together pioneering ideas from across the world to explore the theme of city futures and ultimately the future of Birmingham. The open programme recognises that we all have a role to play in feeding into the city’s dialogue and uncovering positive and innovative solutions. This year’s event is a prototype for an annual festival of ideas.

3 years ago, a blog entitled ‘What If TEDxBrum Was Everyday?’, seeded the most incredible journey to founding Impact Hub Birmingham. Each year we have seen so many connections and ideas grow, unlikely allies form and received feedback that people wanted more from TEDxBrum. This year we are testing out a chance to get up close and personal with the ideas and practitioners arising from TEDxBrum 2016 #PowerOfUs, with the opportunity to host your own spaces to make, dream and imagine possible futures and share them openly.

Join as a curator, host, participant, investor, community member and citizen to inspire, debate and explore. Powered by Impact Hub Birmingham, City Camp presents a broad range of events, and we are excited invite you to curate things that are important to you in the form of a talk, masterclass, workshop, dinner and more.

The party starts with a Hub Birthday Breakfast on Tuesday 31st May, with an evolving programme of events opening up across over 19 days.
